Innovation in entrepreneurial funding at the university began in 1997, when the Ross School of Business pioneered the first student-led venture fund in the nation, the Wolverine Venture Fund. Join us to learn about the application process and program overview of the Zell Lurie Institute's Wolverine Venture Fund for Ross graduate students.

Grants are awarded fall and winter terms.

Michigan Investment Competition (MIC) is an investor competition in which students play the role of venture capital firms. Student teams evaluate real investment options presented by motivated entrepreneurs and decide where to invest their firm’s money.


This 60-minute workshop will explore what a business model is; why a strong model is absolutely critical to anyone interested in launching a new product, service, business, or social venture; and how to develop an effective business model.


This 60-minute workshop will explore the various tools and approaches entrepreneurs use to communicate with investors, all examined through a common framework.


Customer discovery is a critical activity that allows you to develop and test hypotheses about your new business or social venture. This 90-minute workshop will provide participants with the knowledge, skills and tools to conduct effective customer discovery.
