Jacob is an MD/MBA candidate at the University of Michigan. He is passionate about improving health equity and addressing healthcare disparities. Prior to joining the University of Michigan, Jacob worked at the Johns Hopkins Department of Pediatrics, where he conducted research on utilizing zoning policies to improve health in Baltimore City and helped to design innovative community based medical programs for the local Latinx community. He previously served as an assistant to the Medical Director of the New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute, where he helped to evaluate the efficacy of statewide HIV treatment and prevention efforts. Jacob graduated from Haverford College with a degree in Political Science and a focus in Latin American politics and US Immigration Policy. Jacob is a native New Yorker, who has developed a strong appreciation for the Midwest. In his spare time, he can be found running the trails of Ann Arbor, baking sour dough bread, and enjoying the University of Michigan Nichols Arboretum.
