The Customer Acquisition Program (CAP) is designed to help teams accelerate and optimize their customer acquisition efforts enabling U-M entrepreneurs to grow their customer base and potential revenue drivers as soon as possible. Cohorts consist of one ZLI student team and one ZLI alumni team, allowing personalized support.
The program meets on Zoom with Michigan Ross entrepreneur-in-residence Rashmi Menon for an hour each week for 12 weeks throughout the summer (mid-May through mid-August). In each meeting, a set of tactics and best practices designed to help your companies acquire customers will be reviewed. Entrepreneurs then actually implement these techniques in real life and we will discuss your experiences in our following meeting. This program is NOT designed to work on a theoretical or conversational basis - rather it is action based and you are required to try implementing every technique which is introduced. Potential techniques to be implemented include website sales conversion, engaging influencers, pitching press, optimizing digital ads, etc. These are high-impact techniques that should begin to yield results immediately -- each are designed not to require any cash expenditures but will require your flexibility, creativity, and time.
The Customer Acquisition Program is open to all current U-M Ann Arbor undergraduate and graduate students and alumni companies actively attracting customers for a recently established product or service.
Recruitment for the Customer Acquisition Program will open in the spring. An interview for the program will be conducted with Rashmi Menon, Michigan Ross lecturer and entrepreneur-in-residence. Please check back for details.
