ZEAL Law Clinic Panels

Thursday, March 23, 2023 -
10:30am to 12:15pm

Basics of Law for Entrepreneurs: 10:30am to 11:20am

It's hard to know what you don't know! In this session, law students will cover the most important legal issues that they wish startups knew. They will cover topics like what to discuss with co-founders, what VCs look for from a legal perspective, and what absolutely must be in your software developer's contract. We will allow time at the end for Q&A on the topics presented. Please RSVP: innovationseries@umich.edu.

Securing Your Startup's Intellectual Property: 11:25am to 12:15pm

The most valuable assets for the majority of tech startups are their intellectual property. Unfortunately, too many startups do not properly protect their intellectual property, causing their company to lose value. In this session, the law clinic will review the basic kinds of intellectual property and talk about the practical aspects of legal protecting IP. We will allow time at the end for Q&A on the topics presented. Please RSVP: innovationseries@umich.edu.
