What Aspiring Entrepreneurs Can Gain from Business-Plan Competitions

In the December issue of Entrepreneur magazine, Michelle Goodman puts forth that business-plan competitions offer more than just seed money for aspiring entrepreneurs.  By participating in these competitions, young entrepreneurs can also connect with mentors, collaborators, and investors.

In fact, Michelle cites Tim Faley, managing director at the Zell Lurie Institute, who reveals that “all the students tell us that the money’s great but the feedback’s invaluable.”  For that reason, Tim urges students interested in entrepreneurship to pursue business-plan competitions that emphasize feedback over monetary rewards.
