University of Michigan alumni Vince Alessi, Founder and CSO, and Cameron Smith, Co-founder and CFO, were awarded the second place prize of $100,000 for their company, Covaron Advanced Materials, at the Accelerate Michigan Competition.
Covaron Advanced Materials is a seed-stage company that explores the characteristics and uses of various materials to be employed in science and technology with a patent-pending, new-to-the-world product: thermosetting ceramics. Thermosetting ceramics focus on improving the materials used in the oil and gas recovery industry, which has increasingly high temperature and pressure environments.
