2013 Entrepalooza A Success!

U-M business school’s Entrepalooza attracts students with networking and words of wisdom

Students said they were inspired, reinvigorated, and challenged by the Entrepalooza conference held Friday morning at the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. Business students, law students, entrepreneurs, business owners, venture capitalists, and community members gathered for the symposium centered on the presentation of the school’s Alumni Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

“Live, breath, sleep, and believe in your product. That is critical for being an entrepreneur,” award winner Anil Arora, president and CEO of personal finance management company Yodlee, said in his keynote address.
Arora said entrepreneurs have to have a focused and inspiring vision and need to be able to differentiate themselves from other competing ideas. But vision and differentiation are useless without a third component, he said.

“Ninety-five percent of business success is execution. How are you going to act upon your vision?” he said.

“And the other key is to believe in yourself. That is 10 times more important than anything else.”
