John C. Kennedy

President & CEO, Autocam Corporation


John Kennedy is President and CEO of Autocam Medical, which he founded in 2005. The company is a privately held contract manufacturer of precision-machined implants and instruments for surgical applications. Under Kennedy’s leadership, the company has grown to five facilities in the U.S. and 700 employees, along with facilities in China and Brazil. Kennedy previously served as President and CEO of Autocam Corporation, which he founded in 1988 and later sold in 2014.

Beyond his business commitments, John devotes time to a number of organizations. He is a member of the Boards of Van Andel Institute, Shape Corporation, Lack Enterprises, West Michigan Policy Forum, University of Michigan Ross School of Business Zell Lurie Institute of Entrepreneurship, and Acton Institute.

Kennedy received his BS from the University of Detroit Mercy and his MBA from the University of Michigan.  He greatly enjoys road biking, discussing world events, and spending time with family.

Outside the manufacturing realm, Kennedy opened Gerald Dawkins Academy, a public charter elementary school in Grand Rapids, which focuses on establishing strong literacy skills for all students.
