Steven A McKean

Founder, Chairman & CEO, Acceller

Steven A. McKean is a marketing and technology entrepreneur who partners with companies to build their product, distribution and customer acquisition strategies. He has expertise in Business Development, Operations, Executive and Board roles. Steven is a CEO with proven success in delivering impressive contributions to business growth and sustained profitability with top Fortune 500 companies. His career has encompassed both executive leadership positions in large corporations, Big 4 Public Accounting, as well smaller entrepreneurial companies. His passion is to Create, Grow and Contribute. Steven specializes in starting and scaling technology companies. He has broad experience in Customer Acquisition, Distribution, Product Development, and advising numerous companies on go-to-market strategy.

In his most recent position as Founder and CEO of Acceller, he was the driving visionary behind the company’s unique comparison shopping and information platform for selling digital lifestyle services to consumers. Under Steven’s leadership, the company grew to over 300 employees, secured digital service partnerships with top national providers, and was recognized as Best Place to Work in South Florida in 2009 and 2010. Acceller merged with Bridgevine in June 2014 and Steven assumed the Vice-Chairman role of the combined company. He is also co-founder Animusoft, a software platform provider to the robotics industry. Additionally, Steven advises numerous start-ups on building teams, culture, financing, and marketing.

The foundation of Steven’s career began as CEO of Dade Confections, the franchisor for International Dairy Queen in Miami, Florida. Steven and his team grew the installed base of stores from 8 to 30 in 3 years. He began his career with Arthur Anderson as a senior auditor. Whether for technology brands or non-profits, Steven’s career has been distinguished by delivering strong financial returns for stakeholders while having a solid commitment to developing and building teams that are engaged, increasing employee performance, and improving operating results based on a performance management program.

He currently sits on the Board of Miami Children’s Hospital, as their Chair of Technology and has served on their finance, audit, and marketing committees. He also sits on the Orange Bowl Committee, the University of Miami Citizen’s Board, the Young Presidents Organization (YPO), and the Zell Lurie Entrepreneurial Institute Advisory Board. He earned his BBA and MAcc from the University of Michigan. Steven enjoys golf, poker, coaching basketball, and spending time with his family.
