Hal Davis

Entrepreneur & Investor

Hal Davis invests in young companies with high growth potential and coaches young CEO’s. He is also an active social entrepreneur – launching new arts programs and environmental initiatives.

Hal was the Founder and CEO of BlueGill Technologies. Founded in 1996, the company grew to dominate the Internet billing software industry and was sold to CheckFree for $250,000,000 in early 2000. Previous to BlueGill, Hal was the senior marketing executive at several high-tech companies including Interface Systems (acquired by Tumbleweed Communications), KMS Fusion, and Covalent Technology, Inc.

Hal serves on the boards of numerous organizations that have recently included: University of Michigan Biological Station, University Musical Society, The Ark, Arboretum Ventures, and the Samuel Zell & Robert H. Lurie Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies.

Hal received his MBA from the University of Michigan (1985).
