Michael has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. He was a founding member of Royal Bank of Canada’s Technology Industry Group where he managed a $1 billion portfolio of relationships and delivered a complex set of financial instruments to the world’s leading technology companies. Prior to joining Bank of Ann Arbor, he spent three years providing strategic, financial and market development consulting services to technology driven organizations and served as CEO for two start-up firms.
Michael returned to his hometown of Ann Arbor in 2001 after nearly two decades in California and Texas. He is actively involved in the region’s growing technology, life science and venture finance community including Founder and President of the Ann Arbor Angels and as a conference and classroom speaker. Michael’s other community activities include, Hands-On Museum Board, Founder of the Hands-On Museum TechTwilight Event, Ozone House Board member, Skyline High School Business Magnet Advisory Council, Ann Arbor SPARK Entrepreneurial Servcices Committee, and The Ann Arbor Rotary Club.
Michael is a summa cum laude MBA graduate of the University of Southern California where he achieved a number one class ranking. He received his B.A. in Finance with honors from Michigan State University.
