Ryan joined Lightbank as a Vice President in February 2014. While at Lightbank, he led the firm’s investments in Navdy, Flywheel, Charlie and Tenjin, while sitting on the boards of ClusterFlunk and SkyVu. He joins the team from Hyde Park Venture Partners, where he sourced and led deals to close. Prior to HPVP, Ryan was an Associate at Techstars, running program operations and preparing companies for future financing rounds.
Before landing in Chicago, Ryan worked in business development at Tapjoy, working closely with Facebook on the initial sponsored stories concept. He got most of his training from his early years at Accenture, designing and implementing backend solutions for large corporate clients.
Ryan has received a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from California Polytechnic University and holds a MBA from the Ross School of Business at University of Michigan. He is a cliché California native who loves to surf and had a brief stint in the movie biz.
